With Valentines day coming up an’ all, we figured we’d get a little sappy. Just look at these lovely byrds, out on the prowl for some working class yob to call their own, and then there’s that poor lost lad in the background… so lonely in his dreary world of working on the docks, living on chips and pints or marmite an’ toast–with nothing to look forward in life but the dream of another failed Liverpool run at the title… no one waiting at home, cooking up a proper toad in the hole, or bangers an mash… Well, Cock Sparrer feels the lads pain…If only he could work up the courage, the gumption to walk over and offer one of the byrds a fag, a packet of crisps or a pint–maybe then he would live such a sad, sullen existence.
